<div><span style="color: #000000;">What a day!!  After dropping Aimee off at the airport and getting her checked in at 6:00am I then drove to stand in a line for 2 hours to get my island I.D. only to be told I had the wrong papers!  I can&#8217;t even tell you how mad I was, and you would think where I work they would know by now what kind of papers we all need but apparently that is not the case!  I ended up getting home around 8:30 and loaded the dogs and off we went over to the Sea Aquarium trails for a morning hike.  Well due to more rain that didn&#8217;t last long and I took them right back home.  It was so hot and humid today and the mosquitoes are everywhere now!  At 3:00 I left the house for a 3 hour mountain bike ride with some local kids and then raced home grabbed the dogs again and off we went for an evening walk thru the desert.  Some of our friends from work stopped over after work and fed and took care of the two puppies for me, thank you very much ladies!  This day went by so fast!</span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">By request, here is our last puppy that needs a home!  He is a little male and has the sweetest personality I have ever seen, he is so calm and relaxed.  Please if you know of a really good home let me know ASAP, I really wish he could stay with his sister because they love each other so much but not sure if that&#8217;s possible!</span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">I am beat and going to bed!  Bye now, Barry</span></div>

<div>Good evening all and to my Dutch friends, Happy Queens Day!!!  This is our third and last puppy and my personal favorite.  I am temporarily calling her Blackie.  She is a little smaller than the others but makes up for it in spirit and attitude!!  Aimee and I are both shocked at how well these puppies have adapted to our house in the past week and amazed at how much they have grown.  My dear wife is doing potty training around the clock and some times takes them outside six or seven times within an hour and unbelievably they go potty every time!!  Again, please help us find them homes, someone has to know someone that needs a puppy, and these are Grade &#8220;A&#8221; top quality!! </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Another busy day for me starting with trail building for two hours by myself this morning.  Then I came home and picked up Bernard and Rosa and off we went to Punda to check out all the celebrating going on because of Queens Day, a major holiday for Holland!!  We walked all over town in the blazing heat with thousands of other visitors, it was kind of like controlled chaos!  At 1:00 Aimee called and said she couldn&#8217;t get in the house because I had the key so I left our guests there to play and went home to rescue the puppies who needed to be fed and walked.  At 3:00 I went back to Punda to collect our tourists and at 5:00 I went riding for an hour.  I am so tired right now, we got home late last night from the &#8220;Sully Party&#8221; and woke to the sound of restless puppies at 4:00am! </div>
<div> </div>
<div>That&#8217;s about it, we did get a little rain but it&#8217;s still real hot!  Bye now, Barry</div>

<div><span style="color: #000000;">Hey guys, (Aimee here) this is puppy number two.  This is our little man and he is as cute and as gentle as they get!!  When we first started feeding the puppies, the two others (females) would come running as fast as they could, tails wagging and jumping up to greet me.  This little man however, would have his tail wagging but would keep his distance, waiting for me to leave to come and get his dinner.  Occasionally he would get a bit closer and I would pick him up and pet him and then set him back down, and eventually he became a bit more relaxed.  However, as soon as we got him home and cleaned up a bit and he found out I was &#8220;the dinner lady&#8221;, he is now also as affectionate and fun loving as his sisters.  So far he seems like the little gentleman, letting the girls do more of the jumping and tail-biting as he lays down with his chewie.  It is really funny seeing their little personalities develop.  They are each so different and so perfect in their own little ways.  That being said, potty training three little ones is quite the challenge!  You can bet that if I take one outside, the others are being &#8220;pee machines&#8221; inside!  With time though that will get better.  PLEASE help us find a home for this sweet thing I promise you will not be disappointed!!  The adventure continues.</span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">Well, today I got a big surprise!  About 3 weeks ago, Barry became very secretive and asked me to get some extra days off in the coming week.  I was fortunately able to do that.  This afternoon he told me he was going photographing on the island and left about 1:00.  To my amazement he returned about an hour later with our good friend Bernard and his girlfriend Rosa!  Wow!  I had no idea!  What a sneaky-fun husband!  Bernard and Rosa live in London and they will be here with us for about one week.  Bernard has been here several times, but it has been about 3 years since the last time.  Things have changed!  We are now living in this great house, with much more room, and the island has grown and changed, with new buildings and business places everywhere.  It will be fun touring around with them in the up and coming days. </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">Tonight we have dinner at the Ribs Factory planned and then to a local bar/restaurant for a &#8220;Sully Party&#8221;. Remember Sully was the pilot whale we rescued and rehabilitated and then was sent to Sea World of San Diego? This is a party to thank all the people who worked so hard during those 6 long months.  So, we are going to get ready and take off, everyone have a great day tomorrow!  Aimee</span></div>

<div><span style="color: #000000;">Good evening all, finally here&#8217;s a picture of one of the three puppies.  This is a little female and she is so loving and friendly and for now I am calling her &#8220;Brownie&#8221;.  Today the puppies got their first shots so they made it thru the first week safe and sound!!  We will not be taking these little things anywhere until we know they are protected from the killer parvo virus which as many of you know took one of our last puppies we had.  We are even going as far as taking off our shoes before we walk in the house and making visitors do the same along with constant moping of the entry way with bleach.  The best news ever is that this puppy has officially been adopted out to our friend Tom and his family, remember he&#8217;s the vet from Sea World that stayed with us all last month!  Well him and his family are moving here soon so we are just taking care of her till they get settled in!  The other two sweethearts are still needing homes, will send you another puppy photo tomorrow night for your consideration!!  All of these dogs have incredible personalities and are so fun to be around and seem to already just love everyone plus like the others Aimee is already potty training them!!  </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">Very tired from a long day in the sun, talk to you more tomorrow, Barry</span></div>

<div><span style="color: #000000;">Hi gang, we haven&#8217;t heard from too many people these past few days, we are guessing you are all on holiday and away from the computer for once.  We just got home from a long day at work and we are both relaxing with our yummy Highlander Groog which is not only the best way to start a day it&#8217;s also the best way to finish it!  Boy not a whole lot going on right now.  I am still coughing, can hardly wait till Tuesday so I can go back to the doctor and get something else, like something that actually works for once!  </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">Here&#8217;s our fun little Indi who has the unique ability to find the highest point or a lookout area no matter where we go!  Just about every time we go somewhere we end up calling her and nine times out of ten she is standing high above up checking things out.  This little dog has really turned out to be quite a treasure and is as playful and as loving as they come.  I shot this at the old abandoned house we stopped at the other morning, she just stood there looking out that window into the desert and gave me all the time I needed to compose a picture, what a good girl.  </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">I wish I had more but that&#8217;s it for tonight, going to go shell collecting in the morning, Barry</span></div>

<div><span style="color: #000000;">This is Inca and Indi a few days ago with their new found friend a small Iguana.  The Iguana really stood it&#8217;s ground and the dogs seemed to sense that this was his territory and after a quick sniff and a whip of the tail from the Iguana the dogs took off.  The desert here is now painfully dry with animals really searching for water and food, you can see how skinny the Iguana looks and the plants look about the same.</span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">Went on a quick bike ride last night with the dogs, we followed Aimee as she did a fast four mile run, that girl is in good shape.  More later today, Barry</span></div>

<div><span style="color: #000000;">Hi friends, just a very quick note tonight to just say hi and all is well.  I received a note a week ago from a friend on the list asking about our Dolphin Academy mascot Rufo so here he is.  I shot this yesterday as he hung from one of the many palm fronds in his personal little palm tree.  Rufo is so funny to watch and is a super big hit with the guests each day.  He will hang completely upside down holding on with just one leg and then like a circus performer he will swing his body and pop his head up thru the palm fronds as you see here as if to say &#8220;here I am&#8221;, we love him! </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">I went for a deep dive today down to 102 feet with a friend from work out in front of the aquarium in search of new sponges.  We found a great new area that was just loaded with goodies, will take Aimee back there on her next day off to help me search for photo worthy shots.  After work I went on a nice fast hour and a half mountain bike ride in the wilds of Curacao.  The trails are so dusty and loose now, man does the Caribbean ever need rain!!  </span></div>

<div><span style="color: #000000;">Good evening all, Aimee here along with my &#8220;fat-faced-dog&#8221;, or as Barry calls her, &#8220;Scooby Doo&#8221;!  Yes, and believe it or not this photo was taken more than one hour later after a vet visit and a IV steroid injection!  Just imagine what she looked like when I picked her up on the trail?  Now, I understand you basically know the story; Barry and the dogs were on the trail working, I was at the Aquarium, and got this panicked phone call that said &#8220;we have an Indi emergency, you have to take her to the vet right now!&#8221;  Ok, now those are the words no pet owner wants to hear, especially this paranoid mamma.  At this particular time as well, our car was at the shop, so I was only on the bike.  I quickly dropped everything I was doing, begged a friend for the keys to her jeep and ran out of there.  Barry said her face was humongous and I was mostly worried about her air pipe becoming restricted from the swelling.  We were not sure what she got in to, either bees or ants, there are plenty of both out on the trail.  Well, when I picked her up her eyes were only slits, she could barely open them at all. So, I called the vet and met him at his clinic (on a Sunday morning), he checked her out and decided to give an IV injection and sent us home.  Barry kept an eye on her all day and by the next morning, she was back to new and looking for something else to get into! She is definitely our &#8220;busy one&#8221;, the next day actually the lid was left off the dog food bucket (little did Barry know), I came home an hour later and said, &#8220;hmmm, Indi sure looks bloated&#8221;.  Then I went upstairs and found the source!  Let&#8217;s just say there was lots of moaning and sleeping for her the rest of the evening.  Well, that is the dog saga for the week, she sure keeps us on our toes.  The adventures never end.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.  Although it&#8217;s almost Christmas, we are still barefoot!</span></div>

<div><span style="color: #000000;">Good evening friends!  Who remembers the tiny little kitten I found in the middle of the desert this year??  For those of who don&#8217;t remember or are new to the blog I found the smallest little kitty on the top of big rocky hill near the ocean in the middle of nowhere!  The dogs went crazy when we first heard the meowing but instantly helped me flush the kitty out of a big mound of cactus and overgrown brush.  Seconds later out popped this beautiful little homeless kitten and without a second thought I opened my big camera bag and carefully placed him inside for the long walk back to the car!  Needless to say I had two dogs stuck to me like glue the whole way back to the car and were basically going crazy from the non-stop meowing coming from by bag.  We immediately rushed him to the vet but to our surprise he was in pretty good health.  Then over the course of a few weeks Aimee fed him powdered milk thru a syringe and then he gradually started eating on his own.  I can&#8217;t remember how long we had him but as you can see I made good use of our new family member and photographed him constantly in all kinds of fun positions and figured why not use him for our Christmas card this year!  Well the story has a great ending, my friend and co-worker Sorayda came by one evening to see him and it was love at first sight and he has been with her and her husband ever since and is now named Mundi for where he was found.  Here in Curacao Mundi means the desert, the name just fits.  Most of you who know me know I am not a big cat fan but this little guy stole our hearts, we enjoyed every minute with him and we are so thankful he got a great home, he&#8217;s one lucky cat!   </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">We had a pretty busy day today, Aimee and I took the dogs to Saint Joris for a nice walk something we haven&#8217;t done together for a long time.  It was so hot and windy by 10:00 that we were forced to go home.  At 2:30 I did a dive down near Punda at the site of the new proposed Pen Resort Hotel.  I was hired to take two VIP&#8217;s on a tour of the reef and show them the important corals that will need to be protected during the building of a new breakwater project.  Most breakwater&#8217;s around Curacao are built will gigantic stones that are dumped into the water but this one will be done with steel making it safer and maintenance free and there should be far less damage to the reef during installation.</span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">Well once again I just want to thank everyone who came to visit us this year for bringing needed supplies and gifts to us, it&#8217;s like Christmas six times a year!!  Aimee and I also want to thank all our friends for all the help in the past and present helping to make our lives what they are today, we have countless friends that have done so much for us and we will never forget it.  This year went by so fast and I still can&#8217;t believe I never got a vacation??  Yeah I know I live on a Caribbean island and I don&#8217;t need a vacation right??  We hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season and a Merry Christmas!  </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">Sunny Curacao regards, Barry, Aimee, Inca, Indi, Nila and Mundi!</span></div>

<div><span style="color: #000000;">Good evening boys and girls how was you Halloween day??  Our day here started at 4:30 in the morning!  Our friends Zenzi and Ester came by at 5:00 and took Aimee to the airport, all three girls are headed to the IMATA conference in Atlanta.  So I am on my own again for a week, will have to start getting up earlier just to get everything done in time.  </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">Today we got hammered by a tropical downpour that dumped so much water in such a short time we had to cancel all our afternoon dolphin swims due to yucky water!  When it rains like it did today everything runs into the sea causing very poor surface water conditions!  While it was raining or should I say pouring someone inside yelled &#8220;look at poor Rufo&#8221;!  Well poor Rufo was having a blast!  He would open his mouth and drink water plus spread his wings open getting a super full body shower!!  I shot this from a window, it was raining so hard I couldn&#8217;t get near him without getting soaked.  After the rain stopped he just sat there in a daze a little bit like he was cold so I picked him up and dried him the best I could.  </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></div>
<div><span style="color: #000000;">After work I took the hound dogs on a muddy one hour walk and a fun swim in the ocean.  The ocean was like a lake tonight so the dogs had such a great time swimming and are now fast asleep!  The frogs are sure making noise tonight, it&#8217;s time for bed, talk to you tomorrow, Barry</span></div>
