![]() indi-on-the-car Good evening everyone, how was your Mothers Day?? I didn’t get to talk to my mom but got a note saying she loved the flower photo. My Mothers Day card started out with having a beautiful big yellow flower but then at the last moment I changed it because I remembered my mom hates yellow!!
This morning I took the girls on a long desert walk with the camera and tripod. Near this old car I found some really beautiful little flowers but they were super small and low to the ground. I set up the tripod and camera and proceeded to shoot away as Inca stood guard keeping me safe from any intruding lizards. Many of you photographers know when you start shooting something cool you really just loose track of time, and in my case I lost track of Indi again? I was on the ground with my back to the car again looking all over and yelling for Indi but saw nothing? I jumped up and turned around to see her standing on the top of the old car just as proud and as happy as a dog can be, it really made me laugh. My camera was still on the tripod so I quickly grabbed it thinking she was going to jump down any second but to my surprise she just kept standing there without a care in the world! Talk about a brave little dog?! Again this is why we named her Indi, short for Independent! The rest of our walk was just as fun. I found a hermit crab on the trail wearing a shell that was way to small, I picked him up put him in my camera case and took him to a beach filled with bigger shells, he can thank me later. The wind is still really blowing and the ocean is pretty rough not a great week for diving so I have been told.
I spent the rest of the day sitting at this computer working on underwater photos and getting them ready for our website. Around 4:00 the wild parakeets called me outside and let me get very close again, I got some more nice shots of them eating their seed pods, they are just so cool!
It’s bed time, talk to you tomorrow, Barry

![]() curacao-island-dog Hello, howdy and how do you do?? Never used that one before! Today I did something new, I rode my bike to Canoa from my house (that’s around 12 miles) then past the windmills, on the Saint Joris and back home. It took me two hours, I think it was close to 25 miles but it was a perfect morning for riding, overcast and no traffic. I have wanted to try this loop for so many years and finally just did it and other than the head wind it was fun! After cleaning the bike and myself I ran to the store, I found out it was open till noon and stocked up on a few more little things. At 12:00 sharp I loaded the dogs and off we went to Saint Joris for a three hour hike! The weather was still overcast and kind of cool so I said what the heck let’s go! I again carried my tripod and macro lens looking for small little things I thought you might enjoy for your daily picture. While standing in a few inches of water I shot a hermit crab in a fossil sea shell laying on some sedum along the edge of the cliff. I had to wait awhile for the hermit crab to come out of his shell, Inca stood next to me and Indi just ran around like a crazy dog! Well after a little time had passed I thought to myself, where is Indi, I haven’t seen or heard from her in the last five minutes or so and got a bit worried that she was off eating something smelly and dead! I was still facing the cliff with my camera on the tripod, she wasn’t in front of me, she wasn’t to the left and she wasn’t to the right, now I was worried! I called and called and finally looked at Inca who was staring at something behind me in the ocean? I quickly turned around to see Indi “the mountain goat” had somehow swam out and climbed up on this little rock island and claimed it as her own! I had to laugh it was too funny, I said what are you doing over there and after snapping a picture called her back to shore, this is why we named her Indi short for independent! The rest of our hike was super fun, I found lots of cool beach treasures and the dogs chewed on just about every flip-flop and buoy they found, another great trip to the bay!
We just had a wonderful dinner and I am ready for bed, my legs feel like Jell-O! Hope all is well, drop us a line we would love to hear from you! See you tomorrow, Barry

![]() mans-best-friend Good evening one and all how was your Tuesday?? Mine was so crazy busy it would take forever to tell you about it so I will try to be brief. The first thing I did was take the dogs to Saint Joris for two and a half hours. We did something a little different today and cleaned up one of the trails that the mountain bikers have been using. I took a saw and cut a bunch of the bigger branches clearing a nice path so they no longer have to get off their bikes when riding thru the palm tree area. I am also going to take a broom over there on Thursday and do a bit of sweeping, the pica thorns are just terrible and have to be cleaned up. After getting home and washing the dogs and myself I set out for three hours of driving around town. I had what seemed like an endless list of things to do today and one by one I checked them off the list. I even found a few hours today to work on my big driftwood table that I have been putting off week after week. Aimee helped me get it outside this morning and we just brought it back in a few minutes ago but I still have lots to do. At 5:00 I drove to Canoa to meet my friend and co-worker Fahruni and her beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback (dog). This dog folks is so spectacular and has this cool ridge of hair on it’s back and when it stood on it’s hind legs was bigger than Fahruni. I watched as they played into the sunset leaving me wishing I had brought Inca, truly mans best friend or in this case woman’s best friend!!
Aimee and I are completely exhausted and will be crashing early tonight. Once again many, many thanks for all the compliments on the photos, the kitty on the rope was a big hit and NO that was not photoshoped!
Till tomorrow, Barry, Aimee, Inca, Indi, Mundi and the Cat!

![]() Kitten-at-the-end-of-a-rope Good afternoon all, I think we can all relate to this photo in one way or another, it’s kind of the common “at the end of your rope” comment we hear so much if things are not going as planned! Yes as you can see we are still having a blast with the kitty! I have build so many wooden props for her over the past few days to use for photos, combine that with an animal trainer and we have the makings for some really fun pictures! We have named her Mundi (not sure if that is spelled right) it’s a local word for the desert where I found her. She is getting fatter by the day and is eating on her own but is still so tiny!! I am open for any other ideas of how we could pose the kitty, don’t be shy let me know I may just do it.
Believe it or not or internet went out again today, we had to drive back to UTS and have them re-configure the little blue connection box again, what a drag! We have begged them to send someone out here but so far no luck, our main phone line is still not working.
We did another really fun hiking trip to Saint Joris this morning and again we saw the white tailed hawks in the same area, there has to be a nest there somewhere? We saw so many cara-cara’s and kestrels this morning, it’s a birders paradise! The dogs and Aimee are currently fast asleep, after I finish this I have to run to the store and clean up around here.
Talk to you tomorrow, Barry

![]() Curacao Kitten in a Cup Good evening friends, our kitty has a home!! Our friend Sorayda stopped by yesterday at 4:00 to meet our little treasure and fell in love! We told her we are still going to keep her for a few weeks mainly because I have lots of pictures I want to take and also she is still needing to be fed by hand. This little cat is so dang cute!! We are really enjoying this little thing and she has been so good during the night. Aimee feeds her around 10:00 just before bed she then sleeps all thru the night!
I will be on the small island of Klein Curacao all day tomorrow shooting a surfing event. Word has it that the waves tomorrow could be the biggest of the year, will be a long day but a great adventure!
Have lots to do, see you tomorrow, Barry

![]() Our Dog Indi with an Orphaned Kitten Good afternoon guys, look what we found today!! This morning I took the dogs to Saint Joris and at the beginning of our hike at the waters edge we heard this strange noise coming from the top of the mountain. I really thought it was a bird of some kind but couldn’t identify this strange new noise? The dogs were obviously going crazy and took off to investigate. The hike up was very difficult with tiny loose rocks, hazardous incline, cacti and thorns and as we got closer the noise stopped. The dogs knew there was something there but we couldn’t find it so we left. We hiked for two more hours and on the way back I again heard this strange noise coming from the same area once again. The dogs raced ahead again and this time they found our mystery noise. I have no idea where this little kitten came from?? It was up on top of this sharp piece of limestone just a meowing away!! Indi was the first on the scene and moments later Inca jumped up on this rock as well and started sniffing and licking away! I gently picked the kitten up and put her in my camera bag closed the cover and off I went. I noticed Inca wasn’t following us back down the trail because she didn’t know where the cat went? I had to walk back up the trail and show her the Kitten inside the bag before she would follow, it was to funny. So who needs a really beautiful now famous kitten?? Please let me know if any of you are interested or if you know of someone, it’s really has a pretty coat.
Last night when I took Sharon home we got hit by a motorcycle?? We were stopped at a three way stop getting ready to turn left when out of nowhere this guy on a motorcycle plows into us hitting the front of the car and falling off. We both just looked at the guy in shock as he picked himself and his bike up off the road? He then jumped back on and tried to start it but had to push it to the side of the road, we just shook our heads and drove off. He either just learned to ride, had no breaks, or was drinking, I am guessing the last one!
That’s about guys, see you tomorrow, Barry

![]() Good evening, it was yet another fast paced fun day with Aimee and the hound dogs! We started with a three hour hike, then a dive, some shopping, mountain biking and topped it off with another fine dinner compliments of our little grill. Your photo this evening is of Aimee taking a photo of Indi. Indi was watching something in the background giving Aimee those valuable seconds to take a picture of her new puppy. Sorry so short gang, we have Sharon here now for dinner and then looking at all her fun pictures from her fun trip with Luke. See you tomorrow, Barry 03-05-2009 Mar 12, 09 Comments Off
![]() Yawning-Dalmation Good evening from a little island in the Caribbean! Here’s a funny photo of Inca yawning. Aimee and I will be at Saint Joris in the morning starting at around 7:30 for any of you wanting to join?? We are also planning a dive at Pier Baai around 12:00 give me a call as well if you want to tag along. To my amazement I have rode the bike three times this week, I am on a mission to get back into shape! Sorry so short it was a mega busy day at work and I am beat! ![]() a-day-at-san-juan Hey guys, found this old picture of Aimee and Inca last night from our last trip to the beautiful beaches at San Juan. Inca would ran past Aimee “who was trying to splash her” at top speed trying not to get wet, she had so much fun with this game and I still laugh looking at this picture!
Not much to report, my Dengue is much better, now I am waiting for my foot to heal, geez what a month!! Hope all is well out there, may head back to work tomorrow. See ya, Barry

![]() goat-skull Good evening folks, something a little different for you all this evening. While hiking a new route at Saint Joris the other day Aimee found this cool goat skull just begging to be photographed! I swear that woman can find anything! The morning she found this I didn’t even have a camera so I had to grit my teeth and kick myself watching while she had all the fun with her new camera, you would think I would learn?? Well we went back there this morning. It’s quite a hike to get to, steep slippery cliffs, cacti everywhere, thorn bushes and razor sharp rocks, that was just a few of the obstacles we had to overcome to get to this new place. But that being said it’s well worth the blood shed as it’s photo heaven, really a cool area. Aimee has been taking some very creative pictures as well and I promise I will get those to you as well. The dogs had a blast other than having to pull an occasional thorn out of their paws, most of the time they can do it themselves but we are always there to lend a hand.
After our hike we stayed home and worked inside most of the day, I have tons of computer stuff that I always have to do, if not for me it’s for someone else. At 5:00 I went and picked up my bike from Dasia, Aimee got me tubeless tires for Christmas, can hardly wait to try them!!
That’s about it, Aimee is on her way back from Saint Joris for the second time today, there was a party there tonight for a friend of hers that is leaving the island soon. I have the shower ready to wash two dirty dogs again so I need to get going, till tomorrow, Barry

![]() fearless-dog-from-curacao Hey Guys, being that we got so many e-mails from yesterdays photo I figured what the heck send another! For some reason our little Indi seems to be a big hit I think even more than Inca? Oh that hurts just to write that? Good thing Inca can’t read! With the help of my own personal animal trainer we took this photo just a few hours ago down at our favorite beach. I was actually very surprised at how eager and fearless Indi was to climb up to the top of this piece of driftwood! Now Inca was a different story, yes she did end up doing it but had a kind of “freaked out” look on her face, but she did it just the same. For those of who have asked to adopt Indi well, we are way passed that now, she is part of our little casa and is here to stay but thanks for asking just the same.
Aimee and I both had a busy day at work, I did a dolphin dive with Aimee’s dolphins and took pictures but the visibility was terrible. Hope your all having a great weekend, talk to you tomorrow, Barry

![]() indi-and-inca Good evening friends how are we all doing today?? I am guessing that either everyone is still on holiday away from their computers or you didn’t do much for New Years?? We are still waiting for some stories. We just got home from doing a photo shoot down at the slave walls of a couple of our friends from the States and of course since we were there we also took pictures of the kids. Look how much little Indi has grown, really amazing huh?? Go back and look at the first one I sent and compare it with this, she still needs to grow into those ears? Indi and Inca are sporting their new dog collars I got them for Christmas from Orvis.com, they are great because their names and numbers are embroidered right on the collar! Indi’s doesn’t quite fir her yet??
Aimee and I started this fine day with a two and a half hour hike with the dogs and cameras, it was a blast! I tried calling our friend Cival to join but couldn’t get hold of him? We found so many birds this morning sitting on cacti, dragonflies everywhere, flowers and so much more, lots of cool stuff to send your way. Aimee and I are still feeling a bit drained from work these past few weeks it has been so busy and we are feeling it now.
Have a great weekend, it’s dinner time. Curacao regards, Barry
